Samian ware pottery from Topsham

Excavations since the 1930s have shown that occupation of Roman military and later date lies on the northern side of Topsham. Most of the area is now under gardens and houses and has not been explored archaeologically. These finds of samian pottery date to the mid first to late second centuries.
