Plans for houses in Preston and Smythen Street
Back to Time PeriodThis plan by the city architect John Bennett, dated 1936, is for new houses built by the City Council in the West Quarter, replacing those demolished in slum clearance. The one-bedroom flats consisted of a bedroom, scullery, living room and bathroom; the bed-sitting room flats had one main room, a scullery and bathroom.
